A story posted on news.com.au says Chad Reed may be quitting supercross racing as its no fun anymore. Interesting considering he is putting a considerable amount of effort into promoting the super x series which starts late this year. That would be a huge set back if the draw card in the series isn’t interested anymore. It just doesn’t make sense.
“I was really close to quitting. If it wasn’t for my wife and my managers, that would have been it. It wasn’t fun and I have always said the day it isn’t fun is the day I give it away.”
The article states that Reed is in negotiations with various super car teams. I’m sure there is a big difference between riding a motocross bike at a professional level in supercross and motocross is a lot different to racing a V8 supercar at the same level. Years of dirt bike experience does not equal years of driving experience.
If it’s true, it will be a major loss to the super x series in Australia.
