Robbie Maddison took second place and Taka Higashino third.

Cam Sinclair has some serious balls for even attempting the trick again. He has been completing the trick consistently for some time now. Sincs commented that he had no memory of the accident so I guess he doesn’t really know what went wrong.

Crusty Demons – Beyond the Apocalypse Tour 2010

The wait is over as some of the worlds greatest Freestyle Motocross Riders return to Australia for the Crusty Demons, Beyond the Apocalypse, regional tour for 2010.

Jackson “Jacko” Strong will headline the first show at Gosfords Bluetongue stadium as he attempts to perform the dangerous front flip. Strong broke his arm in January when he missed a ramp during an exhibition in Sydney. He’s again fully fit and is ready to attempt the front flip for the first time on Australian soil. Kain Saul will also make an appearance at Gosford where he will back flip a Harley Davidson XR1200. Saul is the only one ever to perform this trick.

The Darwin show will be headlined by Blake “Bilko” Williams and Cam Sinclair. Cam has now recovered from near fatal injuries performing his double back flip in Spain last July. “I have no doubt I can land the double back flip again, I have watched footage from Madrid over and over again. I know where I went wrong. I just can’t wait to start working on them again.”

Riders

The line up for the Crusty Demons regional tour 2010 will include Seth Enslow, Caleb Moore, Ben Fiez, Myles Richmond, Matt Schubring, Joel Balchin, Josh Seehan, Rhys Hillier and Chris Jones.

Tour dates

Sat April 17, Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford
Sat April 24, TIO Stadium, Darwin
Sat May 15, Salter Oval, Bundaberg
Sat May 22, Cazalys, Cairins

Cam Sinclair has successfully made his return to Freestyle Motocross with an impressive performance at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Cam suffered near fatal injuries while competing in the Red Bull X fighters competition in Madrid last July. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, suffering severe internal bleeding from a lacerated liver, a bruised brain, broken shoulder and broken cheek. Medical personnel put him into an induced coma and rushed him into surgery to repair his liver.

After making his recovery Cam once again got the chance to perform and as an added bonus it just happened to be in front of his home crowd.

“It was so great to get out there again and ride in front of a crowd. I’ve been training at my setup at home, but there’s nothing like hearing the crowd cheer for you; that’s something I missed the most since my accident in Madrid,” Sinclair said.

Cam is now the first person ever to ride a motorcycle on the hallowed turf of Melbourne’s landmark sporting arena, which is estimated to be worth $1000 per square meter if damaged.

“I’m still amazed they allowed us to ride today,”, “I was so careful not to damage the grass and everything worked out perfectly”

Sinclair will return to competition at Round One of the Red Bull X Fighters, in Mexico City, Mexico on 17 April.
Sinclair’s FMX career has hit new heights in recent years. In 2008 he set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance ever back-flipped on a motorcycle (129 ft) and soon after became the third person ever to land a double back-flip on a motorcycle. Sinclair’s long list of recent achievements include:

World record longest back-flip (129 FT)
World first double back-flip in a competition run (Texas, USA 2009)
4th Red Bull X Fighters FMX World Championships (Mexico City, Mexico 2009)
3rd Red Bull X Fighters FMX World Championships (Texas, USA 2009)
Most double back-flips ever landed to date (25)
Current Australasian Dirt Bike Magazine FMX rider of the year
2009 AFMX Awards ‘biggest slam’ winner
Star of ‘Crusty Demons World Tours’ (2004 – Current)
Star in upcoming ‘Nitro Circus Live Tour’

A huge line up of the worlds best freestyle motocross riders will compete against each other in one of the most hotly contested events in history, when the second stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters tour heads to Calgary, Canada.

The event will see Levi Sherwood take ‘em on again, Levi surprised the FMX world two months ago when he beat Andre Villa and Mat Rebeaud to claim his first international win of his career, in his first international competition.

Dany Torres has suffered a knee injury from a practice crash a couple days back and has been ruled out of the event. Metal Mulisha rider Takayuki Higoshino will join fellow Japanese rider Eigo Sato in the rider line-up.

Robbie Maddison, who is one of the favourites going into this event and with one of the biggest bag of tricks in the business, is hungry to achieve his first X-Fighters victory.

Just to add some more to the pool of talent, both Nate Adams and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg are confirmed starters. Twitch already knows what it feels like to win a round of the X-Fighters competition and will be looking to get another win.

The Pages brothers, Charles and Thomas, who have both recently landed the front-flip to dirt, so that should make for some interesting scoring.

Aussie FMX legend, Robbie ‘Maddo’ Maddison secured third place in the 2008 Red Bull X-Fighters overall standings after a thrilling second place victory in the World Series final which took place on Saturday, 6 September at the legendary Stadion X-lecia (Stadium of the Decade) in Warsaw.

Maddo finished the series off with a bang, moving up from fourth place to third on 320 points – just 25 points behind overall second place winner Dany Torres (ESP). This year’s high-flyer Mat Rebeaud (SUI) already secured his victory in the Red Bull X-Fighters 2008 overall standings before the final in Poland, after winning four of the six rounds in Mexico City (MEX), Texas (USA), Madrid (ESP) and Wuppertal (GER).

Just one day before the legendary stadium was razed to the ground, Maddo roared the crowd with his impressive tricks and jaw-dropping jumps which scored him the lead in front of American Jeremy Lusk, who crashed twice in the Polish capital.

The world-exclusive Super Session saw four teams of three riders fight it out in the disciplines of Step Up, Speed&Style, Quarterpipe Jam and Classic FMX. Superstar Travis Pastrana made his for-one-night-only comeback at the Session, finishing in first place with “Team Renner” (Ronnie Renner/USA, Travis Pastrana/USA, Thomas Pages/FRA, just ahead of “Team Rebeaud” (Mat Rebeaud/CH, Jeremy Lusk/injured/USA, Mike Mason/USA), “Team Maddison” (Robbie Maddison/AUS, Myles Richmond/USA, Gilles Dejong/BEL) and “Team Oglaza” (Bartek Oglaza/POL, Libor Podmol/CZE, Dany Torres/ESP).

“Now they can tear down the stadium. That was the ultimate goodbye – there is nothing that could beat that for a final farewell,” agreed Mat Rebeaud and Travis Pastrana.

Red Bull X-Fighters 2008 promises FMX fans an even bigger and better series next year. Stay tuned for the list of riders and exciting locations for Red Bull X-Fighters 2009!

Final Results Red Bull X-Fighters Warsaw:
1. Dany Torres (ESP)
2. Robbie Maddison (AUS)
3. Mat Rebeaud (SUI)

Final Overall Standings Red Bull X-Fighters Series 08:

Former Supercross Champion Ricky Carmichael collected the second X Games gold medal of his career when he out-dueled Ronnie Renner for the win Friday night inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Five riders competed in the final, which started with the bar at 26 feet. Mike Mason, Brian Deegan, and four-time Step Up gold medalist Tommy Clowers were all eliminated at the 32-foot mark, leaving Renner, last year’s Step Up winner, and Carmichael to duke it out for the gold medal.

Renner’s first attempt ended when his front wheel knocked the bar off and on the second attempt his rear wheel caught the bar, sending it to the ground. Carmichael cleared the 33-foot bar with room to spare.
