The AMA Toyota motocross championship presented by FMF heads east of the Mississippi for the 32nd annual Monster Energy motocross national at High Point raceway on June 14-15. The fathers day weekend event will attract over 20,000 fans to one of the most talked about raceways on the circuit.
The weekend will also kick off the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross, an exciting three-race showdown in which riders from both the AMA Motocross and AMA Motocross Lites classes will battlefor their stake in $100,000 in cash and prizes.
In keeping with the tracks at Glen Helen and Freestone, the track has undergone major changes and preparation for the event, including improvements to signage and spectator view points. There will be some monstrous jumps and changes to the track layout.
With the Kawasaki riders Stewart and Villipoto on a roll it could well be a one man show in both the 450 and 250 classes. But don’t forget we have seen some strong rides from Mike Allessi, Davi Millsaps and Tim Ferry in the premiere class and also Ryan Dungey in the lites class. Jason Lawrence may just find what he’s looking for and make a return to form.
Additional events at High Point this weekend include GNCC-Style Motocross Country Racing, Rocket Rob’s Minibike Nationals, and a Parts Unlimited Vintage Bike Show. Before the bikes are fired for the official start on Sunday, the Parts Unlimited Legends Lap, with some of the sport’s biggest names from the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s, will bring the crowd to its feet in preparation for the best motocross racing on the planet.
