10 essential dirt bike riding gear accessories

It is very important that you wear safety gear when riding a dirt bike even if you are a beginner riding a slow speeds. Some basic gear that you should have would include the following items.

  1. Helmet. The most essential piece of safety equipment is your helmet. Look after it well and replace it after a couple of years or as it becomes badly scratched or even after a hard knock.
  2. Boots. Boots are very important in order to protect your feet and ankles from coming into contact with the ground.
  3. Socks. You need a long pair of thick socks for your motocross boots.
  4. Knee pads or braces. Your knees are frequently susceptible to injury by riding a motocross bike, it is wise to get the most protection possible.
  5. Long sleeved shirt and pants made from durable material. This will protect your skin from abrasions if you come into contact with the ground and burns from hot parts of the motorcycle.
  6. Goggles. The last thing you want is a rock or other flying debris to strike you in the eye.
  7. Gloves, you will need gloves to protect your hands if you have a fall and reach for the ground.
  8. Body armour. Body armour will give you added protection to the chest, back and shoulders.
  9. Neck brace. A neck brace will prevent your neck from bending further than intended.
  10. Kidney belt. A kidney belt will support your lower internal body organs and keep them intact.
